From Yangnyer in 2023, to Samkhar in 2024, and now to Udzorong in 2026, the Cattle Rally continues to journey across communities, bringing with it a celebration of Bhutanโs dairy farmers, livestock and the enduring traditions of rural life.
On 3 October 2026, Udzorong Gewog hosted the Cattle Rally 2026 at Udzorong Central School under the theme, โ๐ผ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐๐ ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐ด๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ญ๐๐๐๐๐๐.โ
The event was more than a showcase of cattleโit was a celebration of the people behind them. Farmers brought forward their finest animals, while the Milking Cow Rally, Heifer Rally and Calf Rally turned the day into a spirited display of skill, care and healthy competition.
The presence of students and cultural performances added another meaningful dimension, connecting the wisdom of farming communities with the aspirations of the younger generation.
As awards were presented to outstanding participants and dairy farmers, the rally also recognised the quiet dedication that sustains Dzongkhagโs livestock sectorโone farmer, one animal and one community at a time.
The journey of the Cattle Rally from Yangnyer to Samkhar and now Udzorong reflects a shared commitment to strengthening dairy farming, embracing better practices and building a more productive and sustainable agricultural future.
