A significant milestone in climate-smart agriculture has been achieved at Olo Dairy Farm with the successful completion of a mega greenhouse constructed on a cost-sharing basis.
Designed primarily for year-round tomato production, the greenhouse marks a bold step toward strengthening local food security and advancing the national vision of self-sufficiency. Beyond increasing production, the initiative is expected to create a reliable and sustainable supply of fresh vegetables throughout the seasons.
The structure was developed with technical backstopping from ADRC, Wengkhar, and proudly stands as the first greenhouse of its kind in Eastern Bhutanβa model of innovation, resilience, and progressive farming.
The Dzongkhag Administration commends all stakeholders and farmers involved in bringing this visionary initiative to life. Such efforts continue to inspire a stronger, greener, and more self-reliant future for our communities
