The fourth day unfolded like a living story of the highlandsโwhere culture, legend, and nature moved together in harmony.
The day began with the heartfelt melodies of Kesangla, her voice carrying the soul of the mountains and setting the tone for a celebration deeply rooted in Brokpa heritage. The grounds soon came alive with the powerful presence of Yak Cham, a tribute to the yakโan animal inseparable from the livelihood and identity of the highland people.
Spiritual elegance followed as the ancient Achi Lhamo Cham transformed the festival into a sacred theatre, blending devotion, folklore, and mountain mystique. The dramatic Arpha Cham, performed by the people of Merak, vividly retold the legendary saga of Ling Gesar Gyalpo, capturing courage, resilience, and the triumph of righteousness.
At Dammozhung, arrows soared during the Lhasey Kuentu Lekpa Memorial Archery Shooting, honoring the historic victory of Prince Lhasey Kuentu Legpa and keeping alive a legend that still echoes through the valleys.
As the day gently turned toward evening, the Mindula to Jigmeling Hike invited participants into the heart of natureโan 8-kilometer journey through the pristine landscapes of Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary, celebrating biodiversity and the enduring bond between the Brokpa people and their environment.
Day 4 stood as a powerful reminder that Brokpa culture is not only rememberedโit is lived, danced, sung, and carried proudly across the highlands.
